Chem. 93 122; < querc- (in Quercetin quercetin n.) + -i- (probably by analogy with Quercitrin quercitrin n., etc., or perhaps compare -i- connective) + ancient Greek μέρος part (see mero- comb. form¹) + Säure acid) + -ic suffix.

Chemistry. Now rare.
