Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish pulquería.
Etymology: < Mexican Spanish pulquería (17th cent.) < pulque pulque n. + -ería -ery suffix. O.E.D. Suppl. (1982) gives the non-naturalized pronunciation (pulkerī·ă) /pulkeˈria/.
In Mexico: a shop, tavern, or bar selling pulque.
