1904 F. Delafield & T. M. Prudden Handbk. Pathol. Anat. & Histol. (ed. 7) ii. ix. 349 Adamantinoma (Cystadenoma adamantinum; Epithelioma adamantinum).—This group of tumors is of occasional occurrence in the jaws either on the surface beneath the mucous membrane, or in the depth of the bone.
1931 Brit. Jrnl. Surg. 18 420 Although it is recognized that adamantinomata occasionally arise in the region of the sphenoid,..it is difficult to put forward any view as to the manner in which an epithelial neoplasm differentiated so definitely along the lines of the embryonic enamel organ originated deep to the periosteum of the lower end of the tibia.
1952 Lancet 1 Nov. 862/2 (title) The Multilocular Cystic Tumour or Adamantinoma of the Jaw.
1967 Canad. Med. Assoc. Jrnl. 15 July 142/2 He also discussed the epithelial tumours of the tibia sometimes termed adamantinomas, in patients having congenital deformities of the tibia since infancy.
2010 K. K. Unni & C. Y. Inwards Dahlin's Bone Tumors (ed. 6) 293/1 The majority of differentiated adamantinomas behave in a benign fashion with only rare case reports of progressive disease.
