1875 E. H. Knight Amer. Mech. Dict. III. 1821/1 Pull-to (Weaving), the upper part of the lay, lathe, or batten, which is used to beat up the weft. Also called the lay-cap.
2. Irish English (northern), a kind of long-handled fork used for gathering floating seaweed.
