Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: pseudo- comb. form, epigraph n.
Etymology: < pseudo- comb. form + epigraph n., after pseudepigrapha n. Compare Byzantine Greek ψευδεπίγραϕον , use as noun of neuter of Hellenistic Greek ψευδεπίγραϕος (see pseudepigraphous adj.).
A book or writing that is falsely titled or attributed; a spurious or pseudonymous writing. Cf. pseudepigrapha n.
