1658 J. Evelyn tr. N. de Bonnefons French Gardiner 104 Caterpillars are easily gathered off during all the Winter, taking away the Puckets [Fr. les paquets; ed. 3 (1675) the Packets] which cleave about the Branches.

1823 E. Moor Suffolk Words 293 Puckets, ‘Nests of caterpillars. Sussex.’... I have heard it in Suffolk—but have doubt of its genuineness there.
