Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin psīlōthrum.
Etymology: < classical Latin psīlōthrum (see psilothrum n.). With sense 1 compare Anglo-Norman psilotri (13th cent. in a translation of Roger de Salerno), Middle French psilotre, French †psilothre (1559), Spanish psilotro (1493). In form psilotorie probably influenced by -ory suffix1.
Obsolete.
