Etymology: Probably a variant of pulley n.2 It is unclear whether the form pudlaces (1688 in the Index to R. Holme Acad. Armory) shows the influence of pullace n., or merely a transmission error for pudlaies (compare quot. 1688).
Obsolete. rare.
A wooden bar used as a lever. Cf. handspike n.
