Etymology: < post-classical Latin prosalis composed in prose (6th cent.) < classical Latin prōsa prose n. + -ālis -al suffix1. Compare Middle French prosal relating to prose (c1400).
Now rare.
Relating to prose; composed in prose; (also) prosaic.In quot. 1654: characterized by writing or printing in the form of continuous prose (rather than in lines or sections like verse).
