Etymology: < produce v. + -ible suffix. Compare post-classical Latin producibilis able to be brought into existence (14th cent. in British sources), Italian producibile (a1406). Compare slightly later produceable adj.The reading post-classical Latin producibilis in Jerome is now considered a false reading for improducibilis (see improducible adj.).
