Etymology: < classical Latin prōclīvus (see proclive adj.) + -ous suffix. Compare earlier proclive adj. N.E.D. (1908) gives the pronunciation as (proˌkləi·vəs) /prəʊˈklaɪvəs/.
Obsolete. rare.
