Etymology: < prosody n. or its etymon classical Latin prosōdia + -an suffix; compare -ian suffix. With use as adjective compare earlier prosodic adj., prosodical adj. N.E.D. (1909) gives the pronunciation as (prǫsōu·diăn) /prɒˈsəʊdɪən/.
