Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from French. Or (ii) a borrowing from Latin. Etymons: French procerité; Latin prōcēritāt-, prōcēritās.
Etymology: < Middle French procerité (1488; French †procerité ) or its etymon classical Latin prōcēritāt-, prōcēritās height, tallness, length < prōcērus tall, long (see procerus n.) + -tās (see -ty suffix1; compare -ity suffix).
Now rare.
