Etymology: < post-classical Latin primifestus, adjective (qualifying dies day), or noun (short for primifestus dies ), denoting a feast on the first day of the month (1518 in the passage translated in quot. 1551) < classical Latin prīmus prime adj. + festum festival, feast-day (see feast n.). Compare finifest adv.
Obsolete.
A first feast.Apparently an isolated use.
