1903 Chicago Tribune 27 Feb. 10/4 The sale of $30,000 worth of postage stamps..contained 700,000 pre-canceled 3 cent stamps and $9,000 worth of stamps of other denominations.
1940 Oshkosh (Wisconsin) Daily Northwestern 26 Feb. 4/4 Mr. Novotny spoke of the new regulations, which place a time limit on the use of precanceled stamps.
1982 J. Mackay Guinness Bk. Stamps 62 Precancelled stamps, for use on printed matter, were introduced by France in 1893.
2002 South Bend (Indiana) Tribune (Nexis) 17 Nov. d1 Coury specializes in precanceled stamps from all over the country. Of the 21,100 different precanceled stamps available, Coury owns in excess of 15,000.
