Etymology: < post-classical Latin praeordinat-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of praeordinare to order beforehand, to predestine (Vetus Latina, Vulgate) < classical Latin prae- pre- prefix + ordināre ordain v. Compare earlier preordinate adj.1, preordain v., ordinate v.
