Etymology: < classical Latin praesāgient-, praesāgiēns, present participle of praesāgīre to have a foreboding of, to forebode, portend (see presage n.). Compare French †presagiant (1611 in Cotgrave). Compare earlier presagious adj., and also earlier presageful adj., presaging adj.
Obsolete. rare.
