Compare Old Occitan perpon, perpoing, perpoint, etc. (late 12th cent.), Catalan perpunt (13th cent.), Spanish †perpunt (1253), perpunte (1250; < Catalan or Occitan).Post-classical Latin perpunctus is attested in a wide variety of forms, as parpuintus, parpuntus, perpointus, perpontus, perpunctum, propunctus, purpinctus, purpointus, purpuintus, purpunctus, purpuntus; compare the following examples:1190 in W.
