1. An event in which competitors (usually women) are judged on attractiveness, with the winner often receiving an honorary title (see miss n.2 2e). Also in extended use. Cf. beauty pageant n. at beauty n. Compounds 2, beauty parade n. 1.In some competitions, the judging may also incorporate talent demonstrations, personal interviews, etc.
