释义 | Pontiac fevern. Medicine. A relatively mild form of infection with bacteria of the genus Legionella, characterized by a short incubation period, influenza-like symptoms, and rapid recovery of patients. Environmental Health 32 119/2 A similar illness of unknown etiology with an incubation period of 33 to 36 hours, known as Pontiac fever, was reported in 1968. 1990 T. G. Wreghitt & P. Morgan-Capner ELISA in Clin. Microbiol. Lab. xiii. 164 Pontiac fever is a non-pneumonic, febrile illness of short duration with a high attack rate among those exposed. 2003 Health & Med. Week (Nexis) 15 Dec. 603 Pontiac fever should be considered as a diagnosis during acute outbreaks of influenza-like illness with a high attack rate and no other identified etiology.
