释义 | Porro prismn. Optics. A reflecting prism in which light enters through the hypotenuse and is reflected successively at each of the other two faces, used in optical instruments, esp. binoculars and telescopes, to alter the orientation of images.Porro prisms are typically used in pairs, with the second prism at right angles to the first. Each prism rotates and displaces the image, and the combined effect of the two is a displaced image rotated 180 degrees in its own plane.
