Etymology: < poly- comb. form + demon n. or its etymon ancient Greek δαιμον-, δαίμων + -istic suffix, after Dutch polydaemonistisch (1876 in the passage translated in quot. 1877). Compare polytheistic adj. and polydaemonism n.
Relating to or characterized by polydaemonism; believing in or worshipping many divinities.
