Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: poly- comb. form, -blast comb. form.
Etymology: < poly- comb. form + -blast comb. form. In sense 2 after German Polyblast (A. Maximow 1902, in Beiträge zur path. Anat.: Suppl. 5 43).
Biology.
1. A mass of many cells; esp. = morula n. 2a. Obsolete.
