Etymology: < late Latin beneplacitum (see Vulgate Eph. i. 9) good pleasure, < bene well + placitum pleased, past participle of placēre to please, as adjective ‘pleasing, acceptable.’ (In the two unauthorized editions of Religio Med. of 1642, beneplacity; which Blount inserted in his Glossogr.)
Obsolete. rare.
