Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek πωγωνο- , πώγων , -phobia comb. form.
Etymology: < ancient Greek πωγωνο-, combining form of πώγων beard (see pogonology n.) + -phobia comb. form.
Chiefly humorous.
Strong dislike of beards; irrational aversion to beardedness.
