Etymology: < French †Polonois (1442 in Middle French as Poulenoys ; now Polonais ; compare polonaise n. and adj.) < Polon- (in post-classical Latin Polonia : see polony adj. and n.2) + French -ois (see -ese suffix). Compare Polonese n. and adj. and the Romance cognates cited at that entry.
Obsolete.
A native or inhabitant of Poland, a Pole; a person of Polish descent. Cf. polonaise n. 3.

Scottish. Obsolete. rare.
Probably: (of the style of a garment) Polish.
