Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek πλαστός , -graph comb. form.
Etymology: < ancient Greek πλαστός moulded, forged (see plastic n.) + -graph comb. form. Compare post-classical Latin plastographus (1440 in a British glossarial source), Hellenistic Greek πλαστογράϕος , both in sense ‘forger’. Compare slightly earlier plastography n.1
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
Forged handwriting.
