Any of several New Guinea songbirds constituting the genus Pitohui, which are large flycatchers resembling shrikes, some of them containing a powerful neurotoxin in the skin and feathers (frequently with distinguishing word); (in form Pitohui) the genus itself.The pitohuis have, in recent years, been variously placed in the families Colluricinclidae, Pachycephalidae, Muscicapidae, and Corvidae.
