Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin pinguefacere.
Etymology: < classical Latin pinguefacere to fatten < pinguis fat (see pinguid adj.) + -facere (see -fy suffix). Compare post-classical Latin pinguificare (a430).
