单词 accessorily
释义

accessorilyadv.

Brit. /əkˈsɛs(ə)rᵻli/, /akˈsɛs(ə)rᵻli/, U.S. /əkˈsɛs(ə)rəli/, /ækˈsɛs(ə)rəli/
Origin: Of multiple origins. Apparently partly a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Apparently partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin accessorius , -ly suffix2; accessory adj., -ly suffix2.
Etymology: Apparently partly (in early use) < post-classical Latin accessorius accessory adj. + -ly suffix2, and partly (in later use) < accessory adj. + -ly suffix2. Compare post-classical Latin accessorie as an accessory or adjunct (from 13th cent. in British sources; also in continental sources). Compare later accessarily adv. N.E.D. (1884) also gives the pronunciation (æ·ksėsərĭli) /ˈæksɪsərɪlɪ/.
