Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin pisculentus.
Etymology: < classical Latin pisculentus abounding in fish, fishy, in post-classical Latin also ‘that draws attention to itself in the manner of stinking fish’ (1610) < piscis fish (see Pisces n. and adj.) + -ulentus -ulent suffix.
1. That draws attention to itself in the manner of stinking fish; conspicuous. Obsolete. rare.
