Origin: From a proper name, combined with an English element; modelled on a Latin lexical item. Etymons: proper name Peyer , -ian suffix.
Etymology: < the name of J. K. Peyer (see Peyer n.) + -ian suffix, after post-classical Latin Peyerianus (1717 or earlier).
Anatomy. Now rare or disused.
Of, relating to, or designating Peyer's patches.
