Chemistry.

A colourless crystalline compound, C₁₅H₁₄O₄, which has a tricyclic molecule containing fused coumarin and furan rings and occurs in the root of hog's fennel, Peucedanum officinale, and in certain other plants of the family Apiaceae ( Umbelliferae).
