Etymology: < perjure v. + -ed suffix1, in sense A. 1 after Anglo-Norman and Old French (Normandy), Middle French perjuré (12th or 13th cent. in Old French; earlier in Anglo-Norman as parjuré (c1100); use as adjective of past participle of perjurer perjure v.). Compare earlier perjure adj., perjurious adj., and perjurous adj. With use as noun compare Spanish perjurado perjured person (1155 or earlier).
