A fund from which pensions are paid.Pension funds are normally accumulated from regular contributions made by individuals (sometimes supplemented by payments from their employers) over the course of their working lives. On retirement, each contributor draws a pension determined by the amount contributed and often the period over which contributions have been made. Pension funds are now usually administered by trustees who seek to invest the sums contributed so as to increase returns to contributors.
