Etymology: < peri- prefix + ancient Greek μήτρα womb (see metro- comb. form3) + -ic suffix. Compare parametric adj.2 Compare also mesometry n. N.E.D. (1905) gives the pronunciation as (perimī·trik) /pɛrɪˈmiːtrɪk/.
Anatomy and Medicine. Obsolete.
Situated or occurring around the uterus; affecting parts of the body so situated.
