Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: perforate v., -able suffix.
Etymology: < perfor- (in perforate v.) + -able suffix. Compare Italian perforabile (1871). Compare also post-classical Latin perforabilis that can be pierced through or perforated (late 12th cent. in a British source).
