Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: partible adj., -ity suffix.
Etymology: < partible adj. + -ity suffix: see -bility suffix. Compare post-classical Latin partibilitas divisibility (from 13th cent. in British sources).
The condition or quality of being partible; divisibility; spec. the condition by which land is subject to equal partition among all heirs upon inheritance. Cf. gavelkind n., primogeniture n.
