Etymology: < post-classical Latin persona impersonata (1607 or earlier in British sources; also persona imparsonata ), remodelled after parson n. and impersonate v. (compare impersonate v. 1a).Post-classical Latin persona impersonata is < classical Latin persōna person n. + post-classical Latin impersonata , feminine of past participle of impersonare impersonate v., after Law French persone enpersoné (see parson imparsonee n.).
Ecclesiastical Law. Obsolete.
A parson or rector in full possession of an ecclesiastical benefice; = parson imparsonee n.
