Pechère in Compar. Biochem. & Physiol. 24 294 Their constancy among the proteins considered is favourable to the presumption that they may have a common genic origin, and suggests that the myogen of lower vertebrates is thus a rich and convenient source of a new class of homologous proteins. The general name of parvalbumins is proposed here for these proteins. 1974 Nature 20 Dec. 646/1 The only muscle protein whose three-dimensional structure is known is a calcium binding protein from carp (CBP), often called parvalbumin. 1995 New Scientist 27 May 55/3 There is a heat stable class of protein (parvalbumins) that can be used to identify many species of fish. 2003 Jrnl.
