1883 Jrnl. Chem. Soc. 44 875 Paralbumin is only a mixture of a mucoid substance, pseudomucin, with varying proportions of albumin.

1906 G. Mann Chem. Proteids x. 538 Scherer described in 1852 two substances from the contents of an ovarial cyst which he called ‘metalbumin’ and ‘paralbumin’.
