Etymology: < post-classical Latin pancraticus of or relating to an athlete (a1536 in Erasmus; compare classical Latin pancraticē , adverb), irregularly < ancient Greek παγκράτιον pancratium n. + classical Latin -icus -ic suffix. Compare earlier pancratical adj.

Of or relating to the pancratium. More generally: fully disciplined or exercised in mind; having every kind of skill or accomplishment.
