Etymology: < French oxygénation (1789 in the passage translated in quot. 1789) < oxygéner (see oxygenate v.) + -ation -ation suffix.
The action or process of oxygenating; the condition of being oxygenated; an instance of this. Formerly also: †oxidation (obsolete).
