Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin pabulosus.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin pabulosus abounding in fodder (3rd–4th cent.) < classical Latin pābulum pabulum n. + -ōsus -ous suffix. Compare Middle French pabuleux (of a country) rich in pasturage (1540). N.E.D. (1904) gives the pronunciation as (pæ·biŭləs) /ˈpæbjʊləs/.
Obsolete. rare.
Yielding or abounding in pabulum; nourishing.
