Quot. 1483 in N.E.D. shows scribal error for the compound hour-looker timekeeper, which appears as a gloss for classical Latin hōroscopus horoscope n. in an earlier manuscript version (see note s.v. overlooking n.):1483 Catholicon Anglicum (BL Add. 89074) (1881) 264 An Over loker [?c1475 BL Add. 15562 An Owrelokere, horuspex, horuspicus, horoscopus].
