单词 outlean
释义

outleanv.

Brit. /aʊtˈliːn/, U.S. /ˌaʊtˈlin/
Etymology: < out- prefix + lean v.1
poetic (now rare).
intransitive. To lean out.In quot. 1901 apparently intended as an active past participle with sense ‘having leant out’, although a passive (transitive) interpretation ‘having been caused to lean out’ is possible; the obsolete sense ‘recline’ of lean (cf. lean v.1 1a) or a different verb ‘become or make lean’ (cf. lean v.2) seem unlikely.
