1992 New Scientist 31 Oct. 18/1 Gerard Muyzer..and Philip Sandberg..have now discovered molecules of the protein osteocalcin in dinosaur bones.
2000 New Scientist 9 Sept. 6/2 Osteocalcin needs vitamin K to undergo a process called carboxylation, which makes it bind to the mineral portion of the bone, causing bone growth.
