Medicine.
Any disorder that affects both bones and joints; esp. in hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy n. a syndrome characterized by periosteal new bone formation involving the long bones and phalanges, a variable degree of arthritis, and often clubbing of the fingers, seen in association with pulmonary and various other diseases.
