Etymology: < organo- comb. form + -logical comb. form, after organology n. Compare French organologique (1813 in sense ‘of or relating to the branch of knowledge that deals with the organs of the mental faculties’).R. G. Mayne (see quot. 1857 at sense 1) gives a Latin form organologicus.
