1974 Ann. Reg. 1973 vi. 274 At the end of June, on the same day as a total eclipse of the sun brought hundreds of visitors to Mauritania, the new currency was launched. The denominations were the ougiya (worth 5 CFA francs) and the Khoum (worth one CFA franc).
